About Varsity Canterbury

Before reserving the property, you need to let us know that you’re ready to secure it – you can’t apply online without having done so. We want to ensure that you’re certain of all relevant and necessary details before applying for the property, so once we’ve heard from you, you’ll receive an email from us containing a breakdown of the most important tenancy information and also a link to make your reservation payment. We don’t allow you to pay via this site as we want to ensure that you have all the information to make an informed choice.

If you have;

1. Let us know you want to reserve your property
2. Have received a breakdown of the tenancy details and an invitation to apply, including payment link
3. Have read all the example documents

Ready to Apply

New applicants are required to pay a reservation payment equivalent to one weeks' rent in order to reserve the property. The reservation payment is not an administration fee or a security deposit. Should the tenancy application be successful, the reservation payment will be put towards the first months' rent. The property shall remain available to other students until all applicants’ reservation payments have been received. Paying the reservation payment does not guarantee your application will be successful or legally binds the Landlord into a Tenancy Agreement. Should the application for the tenancy not proceed or complete by the given timescales provided, it will be assumed that you no longer want to go ahead with the tenancy and the property will be re-marketed. In this instance, the reservation payments already paid will be forfeited in accordance with the Tenancy Fees Act (2019). The tenancy is a joint and several tenancy and therefore if one or more of the group pull out, it will be the remaining proposed tenant’s responsibility to ensure they are replaced or all tenants will be deemed as forfeiting the application.
